Leading heavylift specialist Van Seumeren has acquired its greatest rival, Mammoet Group, for 111 million Euros (about $120m).
The two Dutch companies have a combined annual turnover of 300 million Euros.
Royal Nedlloyd put Mammoet up for sale last year to concentrate on its shipping business. Discussions with Van Seumeren over a deal broke down at that time but reopened in March.
Frans van Seumeren, president, said the new company would use the Mammoet brand because it was “easier for foreigners to pronounce”.
