The LR1750 was equipped with 63m main boom, 134t counterweight and 220t super lift counterweight. Once the super lift counterweight tray was attached to the LR1750, the crawler moved slowly towards the foundation.
The rental firm said it was a challenging lifting job because it took place next to part of the plant that was still in operation. As a precaution the top section of the main boom was covered in heat reflective material, because there was a small risk that the plant’s flare would catch fire.
