Arcomet, the Belgian company with tower cranes on hire all around the world, has sold its distribution rights for mobile cranes and acces platforms to concentrate on its core business.

A formal announcement will be made on 3 September at the Matexpo show in Kortrijk, Belgium but customers have already been given notice in a letter.

Arcomet’s distribution agreements for Tadano Faun mobile cranes, Favelle Favco telescopic crawler cranes, and access platforms from Teupen and Upright will transfer on 1 October to Waterland Trading, the Dutch distributor for Tadano Faun.

Customers were given notice of the change a week before the announcement in a letter sent jointly by Arcomet director Dirk Theyskens and Waterland Trading director Peter Bleyenburg.

But Arcomet is not ending its relationship with Faun completely. At Matexpo Arcomet unveiled the first truck-mounted tower crane that it has produced since its acquisition of Mobile Tower Cranes (MTC – formerly Gis Munsters) in June 2001. The new Arcomet MTC model features a Munsters tower cranes that lifts 2.5t at 30m jib end and sits on a three-axle Tadano Faun carrier. Rudi Vanderhulst of Arcomet said that the plan was to sell it through Faun’s distribution network.
