The company has purchased two newly launched 40 tonne 643R telescopic crawlers and two 80 tonne 683HD telescopic crawlers, through Sennebogen’s UK distributor EH Hassell. All four machines were delivered to Weldex’s Alfreton, Derbyshire depot where the company’s main hire fleet is stabled. They will be used by Weldex customers across the UK. This is the first time these models have been sold in the UK.
The 643R replaces the 630RHD in Sennebogen’s product range, a model that Weldex bought five years ago. The new model is designed for very confined work spaces, and features a dynamic swing drive for fast working cycles, a Hassells spokesman said. It has a four section, 30m, hydraulic boom, with a folding fly jib with an extra reach of 6.5m–13m. The new crane weighs 36.5t, and is powered by a 135kW Deutz engine.
The larger, 80t, 683HD has a five section boom, a 10m–17m folding jib, and a 200kW Deutz engine.
Weldex managing director Dougie McGilvray said, ”We originally purchased a Sennebogen machine some five years previously which we were delighted with. Our latest investment in four new Sennebogen machines has been an obvious step forward which has added strength and depth to our fleet”
