John Wheeler has taken over day to day control of Grove Worldwide from Jeff Bust who has stepped aside to a roving role, ‘managing the integration of Grove into Manitowoc on a worldwide basis’, as Bust explained in a memo to staff.
He said: ‘This work scope will require my complete and full attention during the next 12 to 18 months and it will require that I spend essentially an equal amount of time in both Shady Grove and Manitowoc, Wisconsin. This will not allow me to also continue with my current day to day responsibilities of managing our crane and aerial work platforms.’
Wheeler, president and chief operating officer of Grove Crane, has been appointed acting president of Grove Worldwide.
Meanwhile, Bust’s name was absent from the first in what is expected to be a series of appointments by Manitowoc Crane group president Glen Tellock, as he puts his senior management team in place. Marty Lakes, returning to Manitowoc after two years away, Jean-Yves Bouffault, Potain’s president, and Eric Etchart, another Potain man and managing director of the Asian operations, were named as executive vice presidents responsible for the Americas, Europe/Africa/Middle East, and Asia Pacific respectively.
