Strategically organised and delivered by James Equipment base in WA, the new 55 tonne hydraulic truck crane has not had a day off work since starting its new role at Kalgoorlie Crane Hire.

Serving the general mining industry in south west WA for the last 12 years, Kalgoorlie Crane Hire recently found their crane service capacity stretched to the limit while working on a large mining plant decommission project. Already looking to expand the business, Kalgoorlie Crane Hire Director Martin Hayes found a crane solution through Rob Hunter at James Equipment.

“We were pushed for time on a plant de-commission project at a local Nickel mine which is being re-located to Darwin,” said Martin Hayes.

“After unsuccessfully searching around for a 50 tonne Kato crane to meet our lifting needs, Rob Hunter from James Equipment managed to find us a new Tadano 55 tonne crane already on its way to Australia from Japan.”

“Rob put our name on it, prioritised us in the delivery order, then organised all the registration and compliance paperwork to have it on our doorstep 6 days after it arrived. We are still amazed at his effort.”

The new 55 tonne Tadano GT-550E joins an existing 50 tonne Tadano at Kalgoorlie Crane Hire plus a 45 tonne Kato also in service.

“It has already had some heavy lift projects including 24 tonne containers and dismantling a 17 tonne tower at 16 metres in height,” Haynes said.

The 55 tonne Tadano superstructure boasts a 42m main boom elevating from -2° to 80° and a triple offset, 2-stage boom extension fly jib.

James Equipment sells used cranes in stock from international manufacturers including Demag, Kato, Liebherr, and Kobelco.
