Liebherr Container Cranes has delivered a high specification wide-span ship-to-shore crane to the Port of Waterford in Ireland.
The crane has a span of 48m, waterside outreach of 40m, landside backreach of 20m, and height under spreader of 24m.
The crane operating speeds are 50/100m/min for hoisting, 180m/min for trolley travel and 105m/min for crane travel.
Safe working load is 45t under spreader. The crane features machinery house trolley, special two axis anti-sway reeving and Liebherr DC drive control.
An order for a similar wide span crane has been taken by Liebherr for the Containerships Terminal in the Port of Helsinki, Finland. The new crane will operate alongside an existing Liebherr quayside crane delivered in 1995, which handles more than 100,000 units per year.
The Helsinki crane’s dimensions are 48m span, waterside outreach of 30m, landside backreach of 16m and height under spreader of 21m. Operating speeds are 40/100m/min for hoisting, 180m/min for trolley travel and 120m/min for crane travel. SWL is 40t under spreader. The crane will also have Liebherr DC drive control.
