Wilbert Taumkrane filed for insolvency on 25 January. The business develops and manufactures tower cranes from a 120,000 sq m factory in Waldlaubersheim, opened in 2008. Two other businesses sharing the Wilbert name, Wilbert Crane Service in Stromberg and Wilbert GmbH in Warmsroth, are not affected by the insolvency proceedings.
Martin Lambrecht of Dusseldorf law firm Leonhartdt Rechtsanwaelte was appointed at preliminary insolvency administrator. He said, "I have already been contacted by entities which are interested in the company. The relations to customers and suppliers are stable and business runs smoothly with all 129 employees."
A fourth business, WSV, launched in 2011 as a joint venture between Wilbert and Sarens to rent 900-1,400 tonne metre heavy tower cranes, is also unaffected by the Wilbert Turmkrane insolvency, Sarens says.
