The firm’s German branch assembled three flat top tower cranes at the Alexander Parkside site in November 2010, two of its own Wolff 6015.6 clear cranes and a rented Wolff 6015.8 clear, to lift the parts. It raised two Wolffs on foundations within the building and erected one outside.

“The works are progressing so well, that we will be able to disassemble the first trolley jib crane in August,” said Bernd Soost, Wollfkran’s representative scheduling jobs in Berlin.

This rapid progress convinced PORR to buy the Wolff 6015.6, the second crane it owns of this model, for use on an upcoming project in Berlin near the Otto-Braun-Straße.

“Wolffkran worked with us prior to construction to determine the best solution for the construction site. They are also our one stop shop for all services – one manufacturer, one contact person, one crane type. That is cost and resource efficient,” said Frank Conrad, manager for the machine technology department at PORR in Berlin.

PORR is entering the final stages of construction on the Alexander Parkside development, containing two hotels, Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Hampton by Hilton. The tentative date for handover to the client is in mid-2012.
