The trio of Wolffkran cranes have been supplied in red and white signal colours in accordance with the safety regulations associated with working close to the airport’s runways. This saw individual red elements of the tower, jib and counterjib replaced by white components. Wolffkran said the modular nature of its Wolff tower system suited this requirement, as individual elements can be substituted and replaced at any time.

The hotel will rise 23 floors to a height of 76.5m, and will include 814 rooms, 32 conference rooms, three restaurants, a sky bar, spa and fitness centre. It is scheduled to open in spring 2011.

A fourth Wolff crane, a 4517 City trolley jib tower crane, is also working on the site, constructing the atrium of the hotel. The 4517 City is the smallest trolley jib crane in the Wolff production series, with a maximum capacity of 6t, a jib radius of 25m and a hook height of 28.8m.
