Star attractions for the crane industry at the world’s biggest construction equipment show next month include new all-terrain models from Liebherr, Grove and Tadano.
Liebherr’s stand will once again be the largest at the Bauma show, the company says, and it will include the new LTM1500 which boasts the world’s longest telescopic boom of 84m in seven sections. The 500t succeeds a 400t model whose boom was just 50m long. Liebherr also promises to show a new 80t AT, the LTM 1080, on four axles and with a 48m boom.
Grove gives its GMK 6250 flagship its first public showing, though the six-axle 250t AT has already been shown to buyers, dealers and the press (Deutsche Grove shows off new flagship… Oct97, p5).
Tadano will be showing its new 60t taxi crane, the ATF60-4 as well as the Japanese 10t city crane/mini rough terrain model, the Crevo 100.
Other launches include Comansa’s first luffing jib tower cranes and a solar-powered anti-two-block system from Hetronic, which could possibly be the first application of solar power in the crane industry.
A full preview of Bauma ’98, which runs from 30 March to 5 April at new showground in Munich, will be contained in the next issue of Cranes Today.
