The British family run firm was the first company worldwide to acquire the latest Wolffkran crane model, which was only introduced to the market at last year’s Bauma. Churchill Retirement Living’s plant services team purchased the hydraulic luffing cranes as part of their plan to change Churchill’s tower crane fleet from saddle to luffing jib cranes.
The Wolff 133 B is the manufacturer’s smallest luffing crane and is ideally suited for the demands of space restricted inner-city construction sites due to its compact design, featuring a hydraulic luffing mechanism.
The first unit arrived on a Churchill job site in Chippenham in July 2019, where it was erected and commissioned by Churchill’s own team under the supervision and guidance of Wolffkran within two days. The other three cranes followed suit and were likewise directly delivered to their respective job sites in Burnham, Hythe, and Taunton throughout the course of the year.
All four cranes have since been up and running, reliably helping to build retirement apartments across the UK.
