The D5200-240 can lift 240t to a height of 210m. This, Zoomlion said, is equivalent to lifting 60 adult elephants to a height of 70 floors.

The crane is currently in the research and development stage, but will be delivered in a short nine-month window, Zoomlion said. The D5200-240 tower crane will also feature technological innovations, Zoomlion added, alongside developments at the manufacturing stage to ensure the quality and integrity of the large steel structure.

Signing the deal

The D5200-240 tower crane is being developed for China Railway Bridge Bureau Group Co. Ltd (MBEC) in Wuhan, and will be used on the Ma’anshan Yangtze River Bridge.

Zoomlion said the D5200-240 will be used in the construction of the bridge, which will be one of the first four-crossing river bridges over the Yangtze River, as well as one of the world’s largest two-span suspension bridges with three towers.
