Holland-based APM Terminals Zeebrugge has taken delivery of five of the world's largest super post-panamax quay cranes - manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery Co. Ltd. (ZPMC) - in preparation for the opening of the new container terminal later this year.
APM Terminals Zeebrugge managing director Rob Boer said: “With the new quay cranes we will be able to service the newest and largest container vessels in the world.”
The cranes have a lifting capacity of 100t for heavy lift loads and can lift two containers at a time. They are 79m high and can reach 65m.
