Pointing to recent indepent research that shows more than 70% of industrial gloves fail to live up to the standards they claim, Belgium-based Ansell Protective Products has launched a ‘glove alert campaign’.

The manufacturer claims that out of nine heavy-duty gloves tested for abrasion resistance, none could match its own Hycron glove. One of the gloves repeatedly failed before it had reached 100 cycles of abrasion, whereas EN level 4 specifies more than 8,000 cycles.

With no third party testing for industrial gloves, Ansell Protective Products is calling on manufacturers to join a voluntary agreement to abide strictly by European rules and stamp out poor quality products.
