Custom built spark proof jib crane to Zone 1

An explosion protected jib crane has been supplied by Pelloby Engineering to a chemicals company in northeast England. The 1t capacity crane was custom-built for the South Sands storage complex of VOPAC Chemicals. It is used for handling heavy duty 250mm diameter flexible pipes that are used to transfer chemicals from ship to shore. The 4.5m crane has a working radius of 10m. Spark proof, it is designed for use in areas designated as hazardous to Zone 1 II BT4.
