Midland Crane Service of Perth, Western Australia carried out a lift and hold lasting four full days during the 1998 World Swimming Championships at the Challenge Stadium in Perth.

The speaker and lighting system was held above the main pool by a 130t Demag HC340 with 45m of main boom, superlift and fixed 15m fly jib. According to Terry Brown of Midland Crane, precise boom location minimised lifting over spectators.
