Two 750t Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 mobile cranes were used in Germany to fit a luxury cruise liner with funnel casing and a viewing gondola

Gertzen, overseeing the project, used its own LTM 1750-9.1 with another hired from Thömen to complete the work. The 348m-long cruise ship, called the Anthem of the Seas, was moved out of the Hall 2 dock at the Papenburger Meyer shipyard and fitted with the funnel casing and the viewing gondola North Star.

Working through the night, the Gertzen team threaded the 26m-long, 18m-high funnel casing through the luffing jibs before swinging it over the cruise ship. The 42t casing was then placed over the funnel from a hook height of 74m.

The following day the 110t viewing gondola was fitted, with Gertzen's LTM 1750-9.1 fitted with telescopic guying to increase its load capacity.
