A 2008 Terex AC60 mobile crane, the last unsold crane from Hewden’s fleet, will be among thousands of machines to be sold by Euro Auctions on a ‘one day’ sale in Leeds on 28 April.

Other lots in this sale include over 30 telehandlers, over 20 swivel skip dumpers, mini excavators and access equipment.  Some of the machines that will be auctioned belong to A-plant.

The crane is the only machine from the Hewden disposal which didn’t make it to the auction in Newark in early March that saw 127 units sold in just four hours for €31.8m.

Over 500 bidders turned out in Newark, with close to 1,500 additional online bidders.

While 36 cranes were snapped up by UK based companies, many of which are likely to continue to be used on UK based contracts and projects, bidders from over 30 countries were represented and brought the rest and these are expected to now be shipped around the globe.  One bidder from Holland, for example, but representing a Kuwait customer, purchased a package of eight cranes.  Other notable bidders came from the Netherlands, Finland, Oman, Australia, Chile and Japan.
