German crane specialist expands branch network following the takeover of Knoll.

From 1 December, 2023, German crane service provider BKL Baukran Logistik will have additional locations in Nuremberg and Ansbach, Germany, following its takeover of Knoll GmbH & Co. The new branches mean the company has a total number of nine locations across the country.

As well as the usual mobile crane and transport services formerly provided by Kran-Knoll, BKL's complete tower crane portfolio will also now be available in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region.

"Expanding our branch network is part of our stated growth strategy, with the aim of offering our customers added services, greater proximity and maximum availability along the north-south axis," said Alexander Volz, chairman of the advisory board and owner of BKL. "We are delighted to have found in Kran-Knoll not just a first-class crane supplier for the Nuremberg region but, above all, a fantastic team that is an excellent fit for the BKL family."

The latest expansion means that BKL now owns over 500 tower cranes as well as more than 300 mobile cranes, mobile construction cranes, trucks, loader cranes and low-loaders, with over 360 employees at nine locations. The company currently generates a turnover in excess of 90 million euros.

Alexander Volz, second generation owner of BKL, said: "It was important to both Hans-Peter Knoll and us at BKL that the two companies were a good match. We want the locations to continue to be successful and the teams to feel that they are part of the BKL family."
