Danish lorry loader manufacturer HMF is expanding in the UK, adding two sales and service providers and two new lorry loaders to its product range.

Manufactured at the firm’s £12m Hojbjerg factory in Denmark, HMF’s Peterborough based subsidiary now supplies the HMF 38 tonne/metre 3820-K and the 47 tonne/metre HMF 4720-K as part of its range.

Offering maximum reaches of 8.2m and 21.4m, the new loaders feature HMF’s RCL 5300 safety system and can be fitted with the firm’s proprietary electronic vehicle stability (EVS) system.

Using these systems in conjunction not only prevents overloading of the crane, but also automatically calculates the weight of material already loaded to the truck, enabling that material’s use as a counterweight during loading operations.

HMF UK’s sales and service manager, Andy Rigby, comments: “Some competitors have only begun fitting their own systems to prevent vehicles from overturning in response to safety legislation introduced on 1st January 2010.

“HMF launched EVS no less than 12 years ago. This means our system is now thoroughly proven in operation, while the fact that it also incorporates our unique, load-dependent functionality allows operators to maximize productivity.”

The firm has also appointed Halesowen-based Bevan Group and South West Cranes as the company’s first sales and service partners.

In tandem with a reorganization of its sales force and price restructuring, HMF UK’s new strategy has already been proven successful with the firm having already doubled sales of its loaders since last year.

“These are exciting times for our business,” adds Rigby. “Not only do our loaders offer unrivalled build quality, they also represent the cutting edge in terms of technology.”
