ESTA director Søren Jansen and Klaus Meissner, director of product strategy at Terex Cranes, will hold an educational session at ConExpo on the ‘Root Causes of Mobile Crane Incidents.’

The session will analyze a large number of accidents involving mobile cranes over the course of more than 20 years. The connection to physics and the limitations for mobile cranes, including fatigue, will be explained.

Meissner and Jansen will also discuss best practices and measures operators can take to help prevent potential accidents in the future, including behavioral training of employees, as well as guidelines for proper maintenance inspection and repairs.

The presentation will be held on Thursday, March 9 at 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at the Westgate – Pavilion 9 of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The event will be supported by the National Commission for Certification of Crane Operators and the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association.
