Surrey-based firm South East Cranes has delivered its first HMF lorry loader since being appointed as distributor for the truck crane manufacturer.

Civils and landscaping product merchants George Lines took delivery of a 1720-K2 truck loader, which was fitted to the chassis of a 32t Volvo FM.

HMF’s 1720-K2 loader features a brick and block grab supplied by Fielden Handling attached to a hydraulic arm with two extensions and a maximum reach of 8.3m.

The crane is also equipped with HMF’s proprietary RCL 5300 safety system to prevent overloading.

This is the first four-axle truck purchased by George Lines, and is the largest crane the Berkshire-based merchants have ever used for deliveries as part of their fleet.

Pleased with the new acquisition, George Lines transport manager Eric Russell says: “It’s the biggest crane we’ve ever operated and offers impressive lift and reach capabilities. It also looks exceptionally strong and well built.

South East Cranes has an existing relationship with the firm through sister company BR Transport, who provided the rolling contract hire deal.

The recent contract signing represents the continuation of HMF UK’s drive to expand its presence in the market.

South East Cranes’ appointment, along with dry-freight bodybuilder Bevan Group of Halesowen, will shortly be followed by the appointment of a dealer for the Midlands region.
