Terex Tower Cranes launches CTT 152-6 flat top – an extension to its City Class range.

Tower crane manufacturer Terex Tower Cranes has launched the CTT 152-6 flat top crane. The new flat-top is an extension to the company’s City Class range.

There are two winch options available on the new model, 18 kW and 22 kW, providing lifting speeds of up to 104 m/min. The CTT 152-6 has a maximum capacity of 6 tonnes with a tip load of 1.7 t or 1.91 t when using Terex Power Plus.

It comes Terex Tower Cranes’ T-Torque slewing system, with customisable settings, designed to provide precise and smooth crane movement. It also has Terex Power Match (TPM) system designed to reduce electric power consumption.

The tower crane has a 150 mt class capacity and is compliant with EN14439-Rev1 safety regulations. The crane’s jib can be configured between 25 m to 60 m, while freestanding tower heights of up to 61.2m are possible. The variety of configurations available, says Terex, make the crane suitable for various construction applications.

Optional extras include the T-Link Telematics Platform (for remote fleet management and real-time data to assess performance).

Design enhancements include a pinned connection between the jib and slewing unit, along with the elimination of counterjib ballast basket. This enables the entire jib assembly to be completed at ground level. Additionally, both hoisting rope and trolley rope can be installed from the ground. Each jib section features pre-assembled and independent safety lines, to aid safe and quick erection.

Ease of maintenance is supported via grated walkways, platforms, safety rails in the jib and counterjib along with a wide electrical cabinet with dedicated platform on slewing unit designed to enable maximum accessibility for all components.

The complete upper part of the CTT 152-6 can be transported in three trucks or four HC 40 containers.

The cabin is one of Terex’s S-Pace models. Terex says it offers a wide glass surface for panoramic views, an ergonomic design, intuitive controls, adjustable seating, audio speakers, and heating and cooling systems.

Access to the cab, and the mast of the crane, is via Terex’s T-Lift system which can carry two people and a top speed of 40 m/min. This, Terex points out, facilitates both convenient access for operator work breaks and swift access for maintenance and support teams.

"Our CTT 152-6 represents a significant advancement in performance, safety, and efficiency," said Luca Grisenti, engineering director, Terex Tower Cranes. "Our commitment to simplifying installation processes and enhancing maintenance accessibility underscores our responsiveness to customer feedback. We are positive that the CTT 152-6 will support our customers in executing their various projects safely and efficiently."
