Austrian-owned manufacturer Palfinger North America Group has entered the traditionally locally dominated US service truck market with a new range of cranes.

The new cranes marry a hexagonal boom telescopic crane to a service truck carrier manufactured by recent acquisition Omaha Standard. They feature 29ft of reach and capacities from 5.85t to 11.7t. Other features include an internal integrated two block damage prevention system built into Palfinger winches; wireless remote control fitted as standard on all models with manual override controls; SAE hoses with JIC fittings for easy field maintenance; and manufacturing, service and support from Palfinger’s Council Bluffs, Iowa facility.

The Palfinger North America Group launched the cranes at the 2010 NTEA Work Truck Show in St. Louis, Missouri on 10 March, alongside new mechanics bodies and air compressors.

“This new line of products certainly showcases our ability to bring exciting and unique new products to our distributors and end users through the collective strength of our parent company Palfinger AG, and the Palfinger North America Group.” said Mark Whaley, executive vice president of Omaha Standard Palfinger.
