David Demag, president of Vermont-based Demag Riggers Crane Service, has won a 110,000lbs-capacity hydraulic detachable gooseneck trailer after winning a raffle that raised USD60,000 for the Specialized Carriers & Rigging Association ‘s (SC&RA) SC Foundation.

The trailer, donated by Iowa-based XL Specialized Trailers, will be used for moving transporters from one substation to another for the Vermont Electric Power Company.

SC Foundation was set up in 1984 to allow SC&RA members to make contributions to an organisation focusing entirely on the advancement of their own industry through research, education and scholarships. To date, members have donated more than USD500.000 to SC Foundation programmes.

“We donated the trailer to demonstrate our commitment to the SC Foundation,” said Scott Wall, president and CEO of XL.

“The foundation has done much for the industry. Much of that work has benefited XL Specialized and other trailer manufacturers.”
