Italian Ormet has appointed Strongco, a Canadian hire firm dealing multi-line mobile equipment, as the exclusive distributor for Jekko brand mini cranes in Canada.

Ormet has five divisions related to construction, providing concrete mixers, rolling systems, silo loaders, and servicing. Its Jekko division manufactures a range of mini pickers and overhead platforms.

Jekko self-propelled mini cranes are designed for working in tight spaces in sectors such as mechanical contracting. They can lift from 1.2–4t and may be provided with hook, vacuum head and basket attachments.

Ormet’s new mini crane distributor Strongco hires equipment in Canada and the Northeastern US. Customers from sectors including oil and gas, infrastructure, construction and mining rent the firm’s equipment. It also provides products from leading brands such as Manitowoc, Link-Belt, Terex, and Fassi.

Bob Dryburgh, president and CEO of Strongco, outlined the firm’s approach to the agreement: “The addition of Jekko products is consistent with Strongco’s growth strategy of adding branded complementary products to our portfolio. Jekko mini cranes are an excellent complement to our existing line of small, versatile cranes.

“In addition to broadening the choices we offer to our customers, this initiative enables Strongco to access new end use markets.”
