Tadano mobile crane sales fall in Q1

Tadano mobile crane sales revenue in the first quarter of its fiscal year (April to June) stood at ¥19bn ($172m), down 29.7% year-on-year.

In Japan, the revenue from sales of mobile cranes dropped by 26.2% to ¥5.6bn, while outside Japan it shrunk by 31.1% to ¥13.4bn.

On the other hand, sales of truck loader cranes amounted to ¥4.6bn, up 7.8% from the same period in the previous year.

A similar upward trend was witnessed in the sales of aerial work platforms, which generated ¥4.8bn.

As a group, Tadano’s net sales revenue fell by 16.1% to ¥35.2bn, with sales outside of Japan accounting for 47.6% of all sales.

Operating income decreased by ¥3bn year-on-year to ¥2.8bn, while net income stood at ¥2bn.
