Unic Cranes Europe has appointed Amir Engineering, based 9 miles east of Tel Aviv in Petach Tikva, as the exclusive dealer of its mini crawler cranes.

Unic Cranes Europe is part of the GGR Group based in the UK, and is the European distributor Furukawa Unic in Japan. Its mini crawler cranes are currently distributed in 27 countries across Europe and the Middle East.

Amir Engineering is a family-owned business founded in 1973 that deals in aerial work and access platforms, tail gates and handicap lifts for vehicles. It also represents Terex’s utilites brand in the region.

Under the agreement, Amir Engineering will provide sales and services for Unic’s full mini crawler range.

Unic’s compact mini crawlers, with lifting capacities ranging from 995kg–6t, have wide applications such as glazing, roof top jobs and plant maintenance.

The first two Unic cranes were recently sold within Israel, prompting Amir Engineering’s managing director Boaz Webb to project that demand in Israel is particularly strong for infrastructure-related work.

Webb said: “Israel is an entrepreneurial country and there are massive opportunities in public and private sectors which would benefit from the restricted access capabilities of Unic cranes. For example, there are plans to invest in Israel’s infrastructure including a new highway in the North, as well updates to our ports, airports and power stations.”
