Wolffkran has opened new offices in Sweden as part of an attempt to up its market share in the strong Nordic market for tower crane hire.

After several months of planning, the offices of Wolffkran Nordic in Lund have opened with Bengt Carlioth appointed as the new managing director.

Carlioth has garnered over 15 years of management experience in the industry from his former vice president and presidential roles at automotive giant Volvo’s Construction Equipment manufacturing arm.

Since joining Wolffkran in October he has spearheaded Wolffkran’s latest expansion drive, targeting Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden as potential growth markets.

The firm hopes to capitalise on growing demand in Scandinavia, resulting from residential and general city centre construction projects expected this year.

Commenting on the firm’s prospects for growth in the region, Carlioth said: “Wolffkran will successfully hold its ground against the competition thanks to its strong rental network and the premium quality of its tower cranes. In the next few months, we would like to not only increase our number of contracts but also the number of employees.”
