Tellock announces Brazilian component supply, boom truck plans

Speaking during a conference call on Manitowoc's second quarter 2008 earnings, Glen Tellock revealed that the company was sourcing tower crane mast sections from a supplier in Brazil, for sale in South America, and was looking into plans to launch boom trucks in the region using locally-built carriers. The company also announced that it expected to make more than $1bn from crane sales in emerging markets this year. Globally, the company's crane sales are up by a third on year-on-year.
