Weldex retrofitted three crawler cranes to control exhaust emission levels

Weldex has updated three of its crawler cranes with continuously regenerating trap diesel particulate filters (CRT DPFs) from Eminox, to make them compliant for use in the London NRMM low emission zone (LEZ).

Eminox’s Continuously RegeneratingTrap (CRT) system is designed to virtually eliminate Particulate Matter, Hydrocarbons and Carbon Monoxide from diesel engine emissions. Eminox said that they utilise proven SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology to reduce the fourth major pollutant, Nitrogen Oxides (NOx). The combination of these technologies in SCRT provides a system which reduces all legislated diesel engine emissions.

In a major capital equipment investment, Emerson Crane Hire of Dagenham, UK has placed an order with Liebherr Great Britain for five new mobile cranes for staged delivery over the next eighteen months. The first crane, a 60 tonnes capacity LTM 1055-3.1, has arrived and is already hard at work as part of the growing Emerson hire fleet.
