Manitowoc shows Niella expansion

Manitowoc has held an open day to show customers and dealers its recent expansion of its Niella Tanaro plant in Italy. The company has transferred all production of two and three axle ATs to the plant, freeing up capacity for bigger cranes at its Wilhelmshaven plant.

Manitowoc opens expanded Shady Grove

Manitowoc officially introduced the new expansions to its Shady Grove crane manufacturing plant during a special ceremony for employees and management in Pennsylvania on September 29. The expansion includes two new additions: a 4,600 sq m area in the final assembly building and a 920 sq m addition in the boom assembly area.

Now, in 2008, the US industry has suffered many crane accidents, and with them heard accusations and recriminations. As a delayed federal rule is about to be released, and some individual states are deciding to go their own way, election-year politics has taken up the issue of crane safety. Nichols: Fantuzzi will add to Terex global infrastructure portfolio

Speaking to Cranes Today, Terex cranes president Rick Nichols explained that the US group views its latest acquisition, Fantuzzi, not merely as a match for its PPM reachstacker business, but more importantly as a new element in a global infrastructure portfolio, alongside Terex's mining and construction divisions. Self-erectors outside Italy
