The first MRT189 was sold to KPH Construction Ltd (KPH), and was erected on the Cherrywood jobsite in Dublin.
“The MRT189 owned by KPH, with a jib length of 65m on cross base and height under hook (HUH) of 42m, is equipped with the Deluxe R16 Crane Cabin,” said Dave Coffey, depot manager, Irish Cranes. The crane, already operational onsite, will primarily be working on demolition and concrete core.
“Irish Cranes has added two new MRT189s to our existing fleet, bringing our heavy lifting machinery total to 37 cranes, with one of the duo already at work participating in the build of a new Dublin residential complex. Most notably, our newest cranes are the first Raimondi MRT189s to be sold in Ireland that implement the newly launched 45Kw winch design,” said Coffey.
The Raimondi MRT189 10t two falls is equipped with a new 45kW winch, and boasts improved ease of use due to the single hook block.
“With this advancement in engineering design, it is no longer necessary to switch from the two falls configuration to the four falls configuration to activate the crane’s best performance,” said Domenico Ciano, chief operations officer at Raimondi Cranes. “The 45kW 10t two falls winch is a completely new Raimondi design based on client feedback and needs. A new electric motor was developed specifically for this application, as well as a completely new Lebus type drum, flanges, and frame.”
Ciano explained that the gearbox was designed for durability and life expectancy taking into consideration heavy crane use. The 45kW 10t two falls winch may also be equipped with a secondary brake system. The crane performs optimally, with the maximum load (10,000kg at 24m per minute) and light load (1,000kg at 110m per minute).
“Reaching higher heights is now possible due to the rope capacity: the standard 190m with an increase of 15% compared to the 10t four falls 45kW winch, or the optional 242m with an increase of 45% compared to the 10t four falls 45kW winch. In addition, there is also an increase of rope life due to the streamlined rope reeving path with less bending. Our clients can expect that our two rope solution will be implemented for all Raimondi cranes up to 12t maximum load capacity,” Ciano explained.
