Swiss wire rope specialist Verope, in collaboration with South Korean wire rope manufacturer Kiswire and research-driven development foundation KV R&D Center (a collaboration between Verope and Kiswire), have developed a crane rope suitable for a wide range of applications: the Verotop MX.

The Verotop MX has a high breaking load; the highest in Verope’s portfolio. According to Verope, the 16-strand, rotation-resistant rope has exceptional mechanical properties. It has compacted outer strands and a specially engineered steel core. This design, Verope claims, significantly reduces the rope’s spinning loss and delivers outstanding mechanical performance. In applications involving multi-layer drum winding Verope says the design of the Verotop MX substantially reduces wear and increases maintenance intervals.

While primarily developed for specialised equipment requiring maximum breaking strength, the Verotop MX can be used for a range of applications. If required it can be modified to meet specific customer needs; for example, an 18-strand version can be supplied on request.

Currently in its final development stage Verotop MX is available in sample sizes for companies interested in testing it in their own applications.

“Our goal was to develop a product that meets today’s demanding requirements in extremely challenging operating environments,” says Marco Elig, lead developer and managing director of KV R&D Center. “With Verotop MX, we’ve created a solution that combines unprecedented breaking force with exceptional durability.”
