Koltho Elevación, a division of Spanish tower crane rental company Rafha Gruas Torre, has added a Grove GMK4080L all-terrain crane to its fleet as the business expands its tower crane work into industrial sectors.

Rafha Gruas Torre acquired the crane from Manitowoc, citing the continued growth in demand for mobile lifting solutions across an increasing range of project types.

Koltho Elevación intends to deploy the new unit on complex tower crane jobs that require greater mobility and operational flexibility in varied or constrained environments.

The GMK4080L, equipped with a 60m main boom, increases the company’s lifting capacity and extends its working height through the addition of optional jib sections to reach up to 77m.

The crane’s operator cab incorporates up to 20 degrees of tilt for overhead load positioning.

Its 2.55m width and 6.2m by 6.8m outrigger base allow for access and set-up in urban or dense industrial work sites, offering an alternative to three-axle cranes in certain scenarios.

Manitowoc continues to handle support and service requirements for Koltho Elevación and other mobile crane owners across Spain, providing parts, repairs, training, and advanced services such as reconditioning and refurbishment programmes.

Rafha Gruas Torre and Koltho Elevación general manager Rafael Garcia said: “Our decision to purchase the Grove GMK4080L is based on our long-standing trust in Grove and the excellent customer support we continue to receive from the local Manitowoc team.

“When we ran a detailed analysis of the GMK4080L’s capabilities, it was clearly the best choice for our needs.”

Rafha Gruas Torre, based in Cartagena in the region of Murcia, operates more than 60 tower cranes from brands including Potain.
