Zoomlion has also delivered a second LW2800A-200NA wind power tower crane to a Thai customer. It will be used on a mountain wind farm on the western coast of the Gulf of Thailand.
The repeat order follows the crane’s overseas debut at the Chaiyaphum wind farm project in Thailand in 2024, where the LW2800A-200NA was used for wind turbine installation.
Zoomlion says the crane’s combination of lifting capacity, wind resistance, transportability and relatively compact footprint makes it suited to the challenging terrain encountered on Thai wind farm projects.
The LW2800A-200NA has a maximum lifting height of 216 metres and a maximum capacity of 200 tonnes. It can operate in wind speeds of up to 20 m/s and has an 18 m x 18 m outrigger footprint. The crane requires a minimum site area of 30 m x 50 m and ground bearing capacity of 0.1 MPa.
Its tower structure has been designed to reduce transport requirements, while the crane’s integrated design enables it to be dismantled, transported and reassembled between turbine positions in a claimed 2.5 days.
These characteristics are intended to allow the crane to work across a range of difficult sites, including mountainous and agricultural terrain as well as areas with softer ground conditions.
Zoomlion entered the wind power tower crane sector in 2021, when it launched what it described at the time as the world’s largest wind power luffing-jib tower crane. The company followed with the LW2800A-200NA in 2025 and the LW3600-240NB in 2026, the latter described by Zoomlion as the world’s tallest and largest wind power tower crane.
According to the manufacturer, its wind power tower cranes have now been deployed on almost 100 wind farms over the past five years, with applications spanning hills, mountains, farmland, lakes and plains. The company says its equipment has carried out more than 1,000 ultra-high wind turbine lifting operations.
The latest Thai delivery adds to Zoomlion’s growing presence in the wind power construction market, where tower cranes are being developed to provide an alternative to conventional heavy-lift crawler and mobile crane solutions for increasingly tall turbines and challenging sites.
