German crane rental company Jandt Kranvermietung has announced the addition of a Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1 mobile crane to its vehicle line-up, marking the first time the company has acquired a crane in the 400t class.
The move is part of a broader strategy to address increasing project demands and to further the company’s development.
The new model now stands as the largest crane in Jandt’s current fleet, which previously included two LTM 1250-5.1 machines and two MK 140-5.1 mobile construction cranes.
Jandt Kranvermietung managing director Jens Lübeck said: “By moving into a larger crane class, we are sending a clear signal about our business development and, of course, responding to market demands.
“With loads becoming ever heavier, we have reached the limits of our current crane fleet in some areas and have only been able to meet project requirements in collaboration with our partner companies. This step marks a logical progression for us and our customers alike. In future, we want to move even more.”
The Liebherr LTM 1400-6.1 is Jandt’s first mobile crane with six axles. The company highlighted several reasons for selecting this model, including its compact size relative to its lifting capacity and the ability to assemble the Y-guying system independently.
Liebherr has equipped the crane with features to improve assembly safety, such as a design that requires fewer assembly steps at height and the inclusion of the LIKUFIX automatic coupling system.
Jandt Kranvermietung managing director Sven Diercks said: “We are very pleased with the system featuring the quick-release couplings, which significantly reduce set-up times. With the LTM 1400-6.1, we can carry out operations involving heavy loads more flexibly and with shorter lead times.”
Jandt anticipates that the updated fleet will allow the business to undertake projects without hiring additional cranes in this size category.
The company’s decision to work again with Liebherr was based on multiple factors, including a long-standing relationship, perceived technical strengths, and what the company describes as cost-effective operational performance.
Founded in 1950 and re-established in 1998, Jandt Kranvermietung has focused on mobile and construction crane services, operating a fleet of 18 mobile cranes and four loading cranes.
