German crane specialist Markewitsch has added a third-generation Tadano AC 3.045-1 City mobile crane to its fleet, with the machine assigned to the company’s Schweinfurt site.

The handover took place at Tadano’s plant in Lauf.

This latest acquisition brings the number of City Cranes in Markewitsch’s fleet to four, out of approximately 20 Tadano cranes operated by the company.

According to Tadano, the new crane will mainly support industrial lifting and assembly work. Planned applications include installing machinery inside industrial halls, assembling overhead cranes, relocating factories and providing other industrial services.

The AC 3.045-1 City was ordered with preparation for Tadano’s e-Pack system. This configuration will allow the company to accommodate projects in sensitive areas such as cleanrooms, or in environments with strict noise and emissions limits.

It will also offer greater flexibility in handling logistical challenges like closed hall doors or active fire protection systems during lifts.

The crane is equipped with Flex Base outriggers, which can be extended continuously and asymmetrically to support lifting operations where space is restricted.

The company said the crane can lift up to 25t when fitted with its heavy-duty jib.

Markewitsch managing director André Markewitsch said the company often uses the jib with a spreader rather than a hook block.

“With the City Cranes, we’re not only extremely flexible indoors, but also in general, especially when it comes to navigating tight entrances, maneuvering into corners, or when a compact slewing radius is crucial – in short: wherever space is limited, the City is simply unbeatable,” André Markewitsch said.

Markewitsch acquired its first Tadano AC 60 City in 2002. The company claims about half of its revenue comes from assembly contracts, where compact cranes are frequently used for tasks such as machinery installation, overhead crane assembly, and factory relocations.
