John Lukow is the new Manitowoc managing director in Australia.

Lukow, based at the company’s Sydney office, has held executive positions in both finance and sales promotion since joining the company in 1999 and was most recently vice president of sales and marketing for National Crane. He has also been vice president of finance and treasurer for Grove and group controller for Manitowoc in the Americas region.

In his new position, Lukow will report to John Stewart, Manitowoc Cranes’ senior vice president of sales and marketing, Asia Pacific (not including China).

Lukow replaces Dave Hull, who has returned to the US after two years in the role to become vice president – sales, North America for the Grove and Manitowoc brands, replacing the gap opened by the retirement 0f Bob Hixon earlier this year.

Stewart said Lukow’s previous experience made him an ideal candidate for the position.

“We are pleased to have someone with such a tremendous track record to continue Manitowoc Australia’s ambitious expansion plans,” he said. “John’s promotion is very well-deserved after huge success at National Crane. Under his leadership National’s market share increased by more than 12% and he oversaw the dramatic expansion into South America.”
