UK crawler crane dealer NRC Plant Ltd. has been named a Link-Belt telescopic crane dealer for the whole of the United Kingdom and Ireland, effective October 2007.

“The NRC Plant personnel have a strong legacy dating back to 1953 with excellent crane service,” said Brax Snyder, worldwide sales manager, of Link-Belt Construction Equipment Co., “I know they will bring the same high level of competent Link-Belt support to crane customers in the United Kingdom.”

NRC and Link-Belt exhibited side by side at the SED show in the UK in May, where Link-Belt exhibited a HTT 8690 telescopic all wheel steer truck crane. This model will complete the CE compliance process in early 2008 and will be targeted in the UK at the 60t-80t crane hire market, followed shortly thereafter by additional truck terrain and rough terrain crane models.

Rod Abbott, managing director NRC Plant Ltd said, “We are very proud to have been chosen as distributor by Link-Belt and I feel that the timing for their launch into Europe could not have been better. With the back-up of NRC’s well renowned support services I am sure we will be successful and look forward with enthusiasm to this new partnership”.

Today, Link-Belt Construction Equipment Co., based in Lexington, Kentucky is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, which in turn is a 50% partner in the Hitachi Sumitomo Heavy Industries Construction Crane joint venture set up in 2002. HSC has lattice boom crane sales operations in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

NRC Plant Ltd., a subsidiary of Joseph Gallagher Ltd., is the exclusive distributor for Hitachi-Sumitomo crawler cranes covering the whole of the United Kingdom.

Earlier this year, Link-Belt re-introduced the Link-Belt brand in Europe at Bauma and SED and is focused on expanding the presence of its telescopic cranes through experienced, local distribution.
