Tadano has opened a new straight boom loader crane factory in Bangkok, Thailand. The plant is the first loader crane plant outside of Tadano's home country, Japan.

Tadano says it plans to increase overseas sales from a current 50% share of its business to 80%. The new plant, targeting North East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, forms part of this strategy. It currently employs 25 people, and will be able to produce up to 1,000 loader cranes a year.

Initially, the plant will build 5t and 8t loader cranes. The range and number of cranes will be increased gradually in response to global demand. The 6,400 sq m plant, with 29,000 sq m of land, has space to add a second production line building an additional 1,000 cranes a year, if needed.

The company says the plant will allow it to accelerate overseas sales expansion and improve profitability.
