Linden-Comansa appeared to strike gold at the SMOPYC exhibition in Zaragoza, Spain, last month, when it sold two tower cranes within hours of launching them onto the market.
Its Barcelona distributor, Royma, bought two of the manufacturer’s latest flat-top model, the LC 5013. Linden-Comansa had not even announced plans for launching this model beforehand.
The LC 5013, which lifts 1.3t to 50m of radius, combines the modular jib system of the LC1000 series with a new counterjib and the NT tower concept. The result, the company says, is a crane which has the advantages of a flat-top for the price of a conventional crane with jib ties.
Also exhibiting at SMOPYC was Jaso which showed the J180 PA luffing tower crane, even though Spain is not generally considered a market for luffers. Jaso first launched the J180 PA Intermat in Paris last year, since when it has sold 35 units of this model, which is built in Idiazabal.
The show reflected the relatively buoyant Spanish market, with smaller and simpler tower cranes much in evidence.
Additionally, Luna showed its AT25/25, AT35/30, and AT50/40 mobile cranes and Ibergruas – Spanish agent for Potain, PPM and Terex – had a large stand featuring Potain’s MC 65 tower crane and HD10A1 self-erecting model, PPM all-terrain models 400, 600 and 1354, and Terex aerial platforms.
Liebherr had its usual large presence, with cranes including the LTM 1030/2, 1050/1 and 1120 mobiles, and tower cranes ranging from the 28 SE, to the 100 LC and Spanish-built 40 LC.
