US company Barnhart Crane & Rigging has changed its name to simply Barnhart to promote itself more as an engineering contractor.
Barnhart said that the new name reflect the fact that it was no longer just a Memphis steel erector but had 13 branch offices and was active in nuclear services, heavy civil construction, industrial warehousing and heavy cargo logistics.
Barnhart president Alan Barnhart explained: ‘We undertook an extensive and serious look at the way our company has changed. Barnhart is a very different company today. Our expansion of services, and experience throughout the nation, made it imperative that we reflect this broader platform in all forms of communication.’
By offering clients advice on erection solutions at the design stage, rather than once a project has begun, its role in the project team has changed, he said.
