The crane has a 59m (196ft) formed boom, and a new three-piece fly jib. With 10ft heavy-lift jib, it can lift 18t (40,000 lbs) and can lift from two hooks for manipulating certain loads. The crane has a hydrogas suspension borrowed from all terrain cranes. The crane is due to begin production by March 2009.

Link-Belt has also launched a large rough terrain crane, a 130 US ton-capacity, six-wheel hydrostatically-driven machine scheduled for production by the end of 2008. The crane is based on a smaller 100 US ton RTC-80100. It also has a 162ft (49m) latching boom. The crane transports in two loads, the bigger is 94,000 lbs (42.6t), including boom, winches, fly jib and tyres. Standard counterweight is 18.5t (43,000 lbs).

Although the HTC-3140 truck crane has a boom made from Belgium manufacturer Vlassenroot, the company announced plans to make its own formed booms at its Lexington, Kentucky factory. A new factory building will be finished in March, with an expectation to start production later in 2008. The new line should help improve boom availability, the company said.
