50 Nordex N133 wind turbines have been delivered by Collett & Sons Ltd to South Kyle Wind Farm, which is located 5km to the East of Dalmellington. The 450 components required to construct the turbines were stored and handled at the Port of Ayr and King George V Dock. The heaviest components arrived at King George V Dock, while the lighter components arrived at the Port of Ayr. Collett's Project Team used a combination of trailers from their fleet to transport the components to the site. An additional team was in place to undertake tower transport operations. The components were transported in overnight convoys to minimise road traffic congestion. The South Kyle Wind Farm, which is under construction by Swedish multi-national power generation company Vattenfall, is the company's largest onshore wind farm in the UK in terms of power generation.
