The summit will be hosted by the Carol Stream Police Department, DuPage County BATTLE (Beat Auto Theft Through Law Enforcement) and the DuPage County Chiefs of Police Association. It is sponsored by FBI-LEEDA (Law Enforcement Executive Development Association) and the NER itself.
The one-day summit is free of charge for law enforcement bodies, equipment owners and insurers that are NER member companies. The summit opens with a general session that analyses equipment theft and discusses theft prevention and recovery techniques.
The latest in equipment security technology will be introduced in the general session and will be demonstrated throughout the day. In the afternoon, break-out classes will provide law enforcement bodies with instruction in equipment identification techniques including hands on training.
