The CC8800-1 Twin was used by Zongyuan Construction Co. Ltd to lift the generator module at a third generation power plant being built in Haiyang, Shandong province, China.
The CA20 generator module measured 20.96×14.17×20.96m and weighed in at 1,046t. It was positioned on a 10m-high foundation.
Terex’s CC8800-1 Twin was setup in SSL configuration, with a 69m main boom and a 34m working radius. The crawler crane picked the load, slewed counter-clockwise with the load on the hook, and then crawled to the installation site.
A further slewing movement at 36.5m working radius allowed the crane to lower the load into its final position on the foundation. Terex said the whole operation was completed in 1hr42mins.
