This crane model is extendable up to 29.1m and has maximum lift capacity of 10.4t. Its small dimensions, 1.99m long and 2.95m high, facilitate its use in narrow spaces.
Hüffermann said that the crane is a cost-effective alternative to extension rails for companies using the robot change concept, as the robots can be changed rapidly and without complications at every location.
Using the crane, repairs and changes of other machine components and tools can be made which were previously possible after only dismantling rails and wiring.
Hüffermann’s director of engineering Herbert Maack said: " In the past, a lot of time was spent on preparatory and follow-up work and this can now be skipped. This is now saving Daimler cash and costly production time.
This electric crane model is already being used at the Mercedes factories in Bremen and Rastatt
