Italian loader crane manufacturer Effer plans to increase its unit output by 50% by expanding its range in lower capacities.
About 50% of the cranes that Effer produces are large cranes, rated at 40tm and above. A further 30% are described as medium size. Now Effer plans to increase total output from the 2,000 units currently manufactured up to 3,000 in 2004 by concentrating cranes in the 1tm to 10tm range.
Bologna-based Effer says it takes an average of 19 months to bring a new loader crane to market. It is planning to launch 11 new truck cranes in the next three years, targeting lower capacity markets.
In 2001 Effer Holding had a turnover of Euro 72m and is forecasting to grow by at least 11% this year.
